Year 3/4 Tennis Competition

On Wednesday 16th May, 4 children in Year 4 represented our school at the Daventy South Cluster Tennis Competition which was held at Moulton Secondary School. 6 schools competed in the competition and the competition started off with Pool fixtures. Sywell were in Pool 1, playing games against Brixworth and Moulton B. James and Phoenix won their games against Brixworth and Finley and Ella lost their games against Brixworth. In our games against Moulton B, James and Phoenix lost their games, Finley won and Ella drew hers.

After the pool stages, we were put into the 5th Place Play Off against Pitsford. James, Finley and Ella won their games and Phoenix drew her game. This meant that we finished 5th place over all.

This was the first tennis competition that these children had competed in and they represented our school brilliantly! Well done James, Finley, Ella and Phoenix!

Year 5/6 Swimming Gala

YEAR 5/6 SWIMMING GALA REPORT

On the 6th February 2018 there was a swimming gala held at Daventry Leisure Centre. 17 different schools went and it was really fun. We all swam in lots of different race such as the 25m butterfly, 25m freestyle, 25m backstroke and there were some relay races too.

It was very fun and everyone enjoyed it, so we all recommend it for KS1 and KS2. We will soon update you as to what place we came, we had an amazing day swimming! Most of us came 2nd or 3rd in our races and Zoe, Zara, Dennis, Aaron and Morgan did their races on their own. They all did really well!

Well done to Zara, Freya, Dennis, Jules, Evie, Lottie, Aaron, Morgan, Kyle, Toby, Ella, Felix, Zoe and  Billie.

Cluster Gymnastics Competition 5/2/18

On Monday 5th February 2018, Sywell competed in a cluster gymnastics competition. The competition lasted the whole day, with the Year 3/4 round being held first, followed by the Year 1/2 round and finishing with the Year 5/6 round. All of the rounds consisted of 6 competing schools. Children were judged in 3 areas: floor, body management and vault.

The children who represented our school worked really well; showing great determination and perseverance to complete their routines. They also showed great teamwork towards each other as well as positive sportsmanship towards the other schools competing.

Our Year 3/4 team finished in 5th place.

We entered an A and a B team into the Year 1/2 competition and both teams performed their routines well. Team B finished in 6th place and Team A finished in 2nd place.

Our Year 5/6 team finished in 5th place.

Well done once again to Rebecca, Leah DH, Leah PT, Layla, Maisie, Holly, Analiese, Dylan, Poppy, Holly, Reuben, Dolly, Kyle, Emma, Ella and Zoe for your efforts!
